This is one of our 'Brew Master' Dave Barratt's favourite beers as he says it is a great balance of malt, hops and yeast. An easy drinking and smoothly hopped beer where the aroma is provided by Willamette with a harmony of flower, fruits, earth and spice aromas. If served at the right temperature the beer also has a deep and complex malt and yeast character that that comes from the selection of pale and caramel malts and we use roasted barley to help give that iconic red colour. For the yeast we use a traditional American variety that gives a dry and clean finish to enhance the hop details.

Grains: Pale Ale, Pilsner, with some Darker Malts and Roasted Barley
Hops: Magnum, Willamette and Cascade

Draught @ Haket. Pours tiny hazy reddish deep golden with a small goldenish offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and floral with dark bread, toffee, caramel, toasted cereal, honey, hay, minerals and lemon peal. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and floral. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with caramel, toffee, toasted cereal, tea, honey, hay, moist soil and lemon peal. Nice toasty malt profile. Drinks like an ESB. Bit sweet perhaps. --- Beer merged from original tick of Red on 10 Oct 2015 at 19:47 - Score: 7. Original review text: Nice toasty malts...
