Nice dark brown / red color, small beige head. Not a nice smell; coffee, ash, earth. Taste fair, also a little dull, ash and earth again. Carbo decent, body low.

Bottle from Vaaland, Bryne. Pours a dark reddish, brown, with a decent head. Good sweet, malty aroma with notes of caramel and dark fruit. Roasty taste of burned sugar, with a good burned finish.

On tap at Olive’s in Sofia, Bulgaria. A very decent dark lager. Clearish brown pour with a medium, off-white head. Malty nose with some caramel notes. Pretty sweet but not as much as some dunkels I’ve had. More caramel and some lightly darkened toast in the flavor. Light to medium in body with average, fairly fizzy carbonation. Sweet finish with further malts and caramel, with only subtle hints of bitterness. Nice enough.
