Welcoming the hot Summer months, this Saison features notes of tropical fruit that complement its bready malt undertones. A soft bitterness, reminiscent of orange marmalade, balances the delicate spice notes that result from warm fermentation.

750ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Slightly musty, fruity aroma, notes of rotten fruit, peach, apricot, mirabelle, a touch of ammonia, some funk, citrusy hoppy overtones with hints of orange and mandarine. Taste mellow malty, fruity and minimally funky, notes of peach, apricot, mirabelle, nectarine, fruity hoppy overtones add hints of mandarine and orange; rather sweet fruitiness, not as dry as may be adequate for the style. p.s.: Nose is initially quite rebarbative - needs a while of aeration. Light disappointment nevetheless.

(750ml 2016 bottle from kihoskh.dk) Pours a deep orange gold, subtle haze, a huge and extraordinarily persistent head of white froth and a wall of lace. Aroma of hayloft, dusty, bready malt, orange peel, some estery fruitiness, also some ripe tropical notes as it airs a little, peppery herbal phenolic character, still a fairly conventional saison. Flavour has some light tropical fruit notes, citrus pith (pomelo?), crisp Pilsner-like malt with slight white bread, dry moving to bone dry in the finish with a bit of white pepper, hay, cracked grains, phenolic, pithy, mineral. Lingering pith bitterness and phenolics in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, carbonation is not heavy but a bit foamy and prickly. Quite a solid saison, maybe some faded dry hopping is involved but nothing really separates it from the pack much.
