500ml bottle from Gilliam's deli in Ulverston. Pours brown with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, raisin & malt. Medium body. Hint of sweetness in the light bitter finish.

Spotty beige head on a copper coloured body, Malt, toffee & nutty aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a lifeless back. Malt, burnt, toffee, grain & bitter tastes. Standard - At best.

Bottle from Booth's, Kendal. Chestnut coloured with a thin off-white head. Quite fizzy. It's a malt-led beer with a little chalk up front, some brown bread and a little caramel. It's fine but dull.

Cask @ Manor House, Oxen Park. Clear dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of berries, dark fruits and malts. Taste of dark fruits, toffee, caramel, some chocolate, red berries and citrus fruits. Moderate bitterness. Low carbonation. Satisfying creamy mouthfeel. A lovely pint.

Cask@The Great British Beer Festival 2022 (Days 1&2) - Toasted malty and twiggy hoppy, some caramel and toffee sweetness, medium body, soft cask carb, bitter hoppy close.

Cask at GBBF '22 day 1, 02/08/22. Light golden amber with a decent white head. Nose is dusty fruits, grains, straw, hedgerow. Taste comprises caramel, brown bread, biscuit, grains. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Tidy enough bitter.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Clear, redd-ish, dark amber colour with small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Floral hoppy and mellow, minimally toasty, malty aroma, notes of petals, a touch of orange blossom, a weak touch of chocolate cookies. Taste is slightly toasty, mellow malty, minimally nutty and slightly dry, floral hoppy, notes of petals, a touch of orange blossom, diluted hints of milk chocolate, chocolate cookies. Watery texture, smooth, soft, silky palate, fine and soft carbonation. Nicely hopped, nice subtle malty flavours, good balance - good.

Fra cask på GBBF aug-19: klar mørkerød kobber med fint skum som varer helt ned. En slank, smaksrik og lettdrikkelig bitter med toner av barskog, urter, litt karamell og mørke bær. Soft and charming.

Cask at GBBF: Poured a translucent orange red with off white head. Nice Maltiness. Taste is light butter very malty.

8/8/2019. Cask at the 2019 Great British Beer Festival. Pours clear dark amber with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, light chocolate, toffee, hops and fruit. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet, fruity, malty finish.
