Bourbon infused Abbey Ale. Als het weer wat kouder wordt betekent het weer tijd voor Maker’s Monk! Denk aan een vol, lichtzoet abdijbier, maar dan ook nog bourbon infused. Heerlijk verwarmend tijdens de koude dagen. Dit bier won een zilver bij de Barcelona Beer Challenge in 2018

From tap at Rock City, Amersfoort. Bit sharp with bourbon infusion, brown malt, caramel, toffee. Some booziness, medium sweet with a decent bitterness. Medium body. Okay.

330ml bottle. Hazy, dark brown colour with small, creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, slightly nutty, dark malty and minimally alcoholic aroma, hints of Brazil nut, yeasty fruity overtones, whiffs of prune. Taste is slightly roasty and nutty, dark malty, slightly alcoholic, minimally yeasty fruity, hints of Brazil nut, a touch of prune and cherry. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, scattered carbonation. Quite alcoholic, not overly complex - OK.

Flesje gedronken tijdens vakantie. Donkerbruin bier met een beige schuim dat snel wegtrekt. Aroma is moutig en fruitig van kersen en pruimen. De smaak is zoet, caramelachtig met een hint van rozijnen en pruimen ook de bourbon komt naar boven. De nasmaak is licht bitter maar ebt snel weg.

33cl bottle. A clear dark reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, raisins, caramel, some chocolate. Taste of raisins, dried fruits, dark malt, chocolate, some coffee flavour.

Roodbruin bier zonder schuim. Smaak is zoet en fruitig met iets van bessen, pruimen, bramen en kandij.

Very dark brown with thin creamy head. Aroma and flavour have obvious caramel and dark malt sweetness. Also a hint of liquorice. The sweet element of bourbon is there too but only slightly. Good but needs to be stronger and thicker.

Draught at 't Taphuys, Arnhem. Good roasted and vinous aroma. Dark brown colour, seems clear. Frothy light brown head. The flavour is sweet and peppery with a fruity finish. Slightly vinous. Yeasty finish.
