One-third pint, shared with Finn. Spotty lacing from a filmy layer, deep amber body. Inviting on the nose, caramel-fruity scents. Fine balanced flavours of leafy hops, earth, and semi sweet brown malts. Rounded malt-fruity finish, bittersweet. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (London, 10.02.2025)

Bottle from Wales Ales. Pours amber with nice off white top. Aroma of earthy malt, caramel biscuit, dried fruits, wood. Taste follows aroma; earthy and leafy but with some dried fruity esters, some nuts and caramel. Nice prickly bitterness. Reasonable crispness helped by a high fine carbonation. Good bitter.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 17 May 2023) Copper colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, toast, caramel and a mild herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. A bit caramelly, but tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 27th May 2023. Clear coppery amber with shallow foam and scant lacing. Pungent aroma. Earthy pungencies in-mouth with nutty maltiness, which goes on to dominate the finish. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. 7

From cask at the wonderful Dog & Bell, Deptford, London, 02.07.22. Dark golden amber. Dense and persistent off-white head and lacing. Inviting and excellently balanced aroma and taste of pale malt, grains, marmalde and bark. A superb bitter that I could drink pints and pints of!
