A mid brown best beer with similarities in colour and strength to a traditional best bitter but benefitting from the generous use of American Cascade and Perle hops to deliver a fruity refreshing beer. For each cask sold a £1 goes towards the All Saints Preservation Trust (charity no: 1077207) looking after the town’s iconic church – the finest in Bedfordshire according the John Bentjeman.

Bottle at home, 16/12/16. Golden copper with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel, sweet malts, perfume, toffee apple, fruit esters, biscuit crumble. Taste comprises toffee, candied orange, sweet fruit mash, brown bread, biscuit crumbs, caramel, fruit loaf, light spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light bitter linger. Really solid ESB.

Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 2015, National Winter Ales Festival (2015), The Roundhouse, Pride Park, Derby, Derbyshire, England, DE24 8JE. [ As Leighton Buzzard Restoration Ale ].Clear medium amber color with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, light hoppy, grapefruit, vomit notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, grapefruit, sweet malt, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at Milton Keynes Beer Festival; clear golden amber pour with a bubbly white head, aroma has sweet malts, taste has crisp citrus, sweet malts.

Cask at The Rising Sun, Berkhamsted, Herts. An amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Tastes quite fruity, citrus and bitter. Prefer the Centennial IPA.

On cask at The Vailant Trooper, Aldbury. Nice smooth malty beginning. Dry malt with a nice Ale taste. Round and fresh, smooth with lots of malty Ale characteristics. Smooth aftertaste with hints of nuts, round and fresh. Nice with a nice fry malty bitterness in the end.

Bottle picked up at The Brewery Shop, Berkhampstead, Herts, 1st August 2015 Saturday 1st August 2015 consumed at Lynn & Barrys Pours copper, good clarity with a slim white head. Surprised that this is more citrussy than I expected and a pleasant bitter with a bitter bite. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.3
