Taste comprises light perfume, straw, earthy bitter notes, bread dough, touch of orange. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with a tingle of hop bitterenss. Ok - bit of a bland plodder but there’s worse out there.

Cask at the Rake - London. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. The nose is all minerals, grains and dry bread. Light sweet flavor with notes of cigarette ash, astringent grassy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes dry and smokey, with more grains, some lemon rind, ash and minerals. Not good at all. By the Horns has really been scraping the bottom of the barrel this past year - quite a shame.

Cask at Rake, thanks to Leighton. It pours clear amber with a decent white head. The nose is rubber, toasty grain, bread, light smoke and egghead sulphur. The taste is bitter-sweet, very egghead indeed, liquidised farther, toasty grain, soapy, brown bread and pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very messy and a good deal wrong. Like a hot egg sandwich, but not in a good way...
