Bottle. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized foamy white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is floral, roasted, some mild toffee, toast and mild liquorice tones. Flavour is floral, roasted, toffeeish, liquorice and mild toffee tones. Smoothly balanced.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Brew By Numbers 15/01 Black IPA - Yakima Valley ].ABV: 6.1%. Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate to heavy hoppy, grapefruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, licorice, hoppy, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20141205]

Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop, Coventry, consumed at home after a more satisfying day of bricklaying as opposed to yesterday which didnโt go well at all, had this Sunday 12th July 2015 Dark Chestnut with a light frothy light beige head. Coffee on the nose a little gritty mouthfeel but with fresh zappy green hops. Weโre both loving this, good beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

33cl Bottle from the brewery. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of soft sweet citrus fruits, roasted malts, chocolate, pine, grapefruit, liquorice. Smells good. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, liquorice, grapefruit, citrus, some chocolate, light ashy, nice bitter finish. Medium bodied. Smooth, good.

Opaque black beer with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine. Flavour caught me by surprise. The fruit and resinous pine are still there but as a backtaste to an altogether more bitter, malty flavour. Thereโs a bit of chocolate in there too. Airy citrus aftertaste. Seriously good.
