Sample at GABF 10/05/2019, thanks to kathryneels for assistance with note-taking. Black pour with some brown around the edges and a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Patchy lace. Bourbon, malt and chocolate in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, fudge, roast coffee and malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Tap @ Pitch black with a medium dark brown head. Aromas of fudge, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, toffee. Taste is fruity, chocolate, toffee, light roast, vanilla.

Poured at Shelton Festival, black with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is roast, cocoa, vanilla. Medium body, roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

[ As Faction NYX ].Clear dark black brown color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, wood, earthy, dark malt, chocolate, roasted, sweet malt, quit malty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20160513]

Draught@CBC2016 (Blue Session). Black colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is liquorice, toffee, wood and some mild vanilla notes as well as a quite evident sting of alcohol to it. Flavour is liquorice, ripe fruits, some toffee, vanilla, mild toasted notes as well as some wood and alcohol. Quite warming brew.
