Sip into the majestic taste of Augustinian, a premium ale that’s crafted to perfection by Nethergate Brewery. This delightful drink was originally brewed to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the Augustinian priory in Clare, Suffolk, which is also the birthplace of our esteemed brewery.

As you pour a glass of this fine ale, you’ll notice its rich amber hue and the creamy head that beckons you to take a sip. Your taste buds will be greeted with a smooth yet intense flavour that’s infused with a hint of Crystal malt and the late addition of Styrian Goldings hops. Together, they create a continental essence that sets Augustinian apart from other ales.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 16/7/08. Deep amber with a moderate, off-white head. Malty, red fruit and caramel aroma. Flavour began with a short burst of fruity sweetness before some earthy hops kicked in leading to a decent bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask conditioned at JDW Penny Black, Bicester 24-07-06. Amber coloured with a picey and hoppy aroma. Tasted distinctly fruity and spicey, served maybe a little bit too cold but this was a really interesting beer, finished with a nice maltyiness leading to good bitterness.
