Sorta like an IPA, sorta not. Cascade, Magnum and Simco hops. Two-row, Carapils and Crystal malts. Very light, almost like a pils, but a bit more of a hoppy kick. Light enough for a hophead summer drink.
Sometimes brewed at 5% ABV.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. I must confess that I got this one primarily for a new region tick; normally I’d be highly suspicious of any brewery that felt the need to advertise on the can that their beer contains "real hop flavour". Anyhow, it’s a fizzy gold beer with a white head. It tastes of butter, sweet malt, metal. cabbage, perfume, a little raw alcohol and some chilli. All sorts of flaws here. There’s a dirty, dusty light bitterness in the sticky finish. Still, at least another bit of my Ratebeer map is coloured in, and without having to resort to a pale lager- although in this instance a pale lager may have been better.

Can thanks to Cloin. It pours hazy amber with a medium off-white head. The taste is sweet, soapy, stewed orange, a touch of rotten veg, cheap perfume and sweet bread. The taste is quite sweet, grainy, candy, sugary action, cracker, soapy, perfumed, floral, stewed orange with a dry, waxy finish. Light - medium body and average carbonation. Not great, but I did expect worse.

Can shared in London - big thanks to Colin. Pours clear gold with a big, frothy off-white head. The nose holds grainy pale malts, faint paper, old lemon rind. Light to medium sweet flavor with grassy bitterness, damp pale malts, husky grains, hay. Light bodied with with average carbonation. Light rindy bitterness on the finish, some lime, more grain husk, pale malts, light dough. So so.

Can, 4.7%. Old vegetable aroma. Almost clear dark golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is quite sweet with a grassy and old-tasting hoppiness. Like a mix between a sweet and worty alcohol free beer and a failed IPA. And this one is not even low alcohol.

355ml can from Ales by Mail

BBE 16/03/16 - Pours orange with a smooth head. Aroma of vegetables, stingy grassy notes, earthiness, hints of pine, caramel and resin. Taste is stingy, stuffy and messy with notes of earthy malts, caramel, grass, vegetables and yeastiness. Finish is stingy, stuffy and messy with some vegetables, berries and yeastiness. Quite bad.

355ml can. Slightly cloudy, orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy aroma with an artificial touch of jelly bear mass, hints of apricot and bitter orange. Taste is slightly sweet hoppy, jelly bear mass again, some banana rounds off the basis, hoppy overtones with hints of bitter orange and mandarine. Slightly strange artificiality.
