Tap at Farmhouse Tap & Grill. It pours cloudy gold with a decent white head. The nose is soft, juicy, fragrant, tropical fruits, grass and cracker. The taste is crisp, bitter, clean, minerals, grassy, grapefruit rind, pithy lemon and pine with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Crisp, clean and crushable. Not big and showy, just very well-made and sessionable.

Growler thanks to 50belair! Pours cloudy golden, medium creamy off-white head with great staying power and nice lacing. Aroma is rich dank grapefruit, passionfruit, pine. Flavor is not quite up to aroma, but still nice, quite light sweet, light bitter, juicy, not harsh. Light body, soft on the palate, a bit watery.

On tap at the brewery on 21. June 2014. Standing two hours in line. Big thank you to Russel for his patience and driving. Unclear pale orange in the glass, small foamy head. Sweet fruity at the nose. Starts with a lot of fruity sweetness, scratchy. Low bitterness. Too sweet in my opinion.

Growler thanks to Seth. Pours a cloudy yellow with small frothy white head. The aroma is strong pine, resin hop. Thin mouthfeel with nice light bitter hop, and a bit watery and easy to drink, very impressive.

2oz pour at the brewery. Pours a hazy light gold, with some thin white head. Nose packs a huge punch, bright chive and scallion and garlic scape, bright pine, perfume, herbs, grapefruit, lemon, floral, zesty. Very inviting. Flavor follows right along, big punchy citrus zest, bright onion patch, scallion, chive, scape, grapefruit zest, orange zest, even a little bit of lime, dried pine, only the faintest hint of sweetness to round things out. Dry, zesty finish. Incredible. Packs an incredible amount of flavors for a beer coming in at 4%.

Pours from a swingtop bottle a bright yellow-gold color with a thin white head that burns away steadily to an outer ring. Sparse rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and bready malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Well-executed low-ABV Pale all around.

750 ml bottle from the brewery. Nice pale appearance with a cap of soapy head. Nose is very nice floral hops with clean pale malt. Taste is a vibrant array of hops and malt. Citrus, hay, cracker malt and light grassy hops. Light body with a dry texture. Finish is very clean and crisp. Perfectly balanced beer that I can drink all afternoon and into the evening. Damn Mr. Hill, that magic well water is working yet again! Excellent pale ale.

Growler drank at the cabin, NH. Pours lightly cloudy gold with a fine, white foam head. Absolutely gorgeous aroma of cat pee, fresh grass, nips of zesty citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor, dry and zippy citrus, pithy citrus, orange, grapefruit, dry grass. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately dry to finish, more pithy citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, light grassy hops, touches of lemon rind. Obscenely drinkable. The balance is perfect. There’s some excellent hop kick. Unreal good. I don’t know what else to say.

Growler @ Dan’s house. Thanks Stephen! Hazy, whitish yellow appearance with a white head. A bit spicy, floral, herbal, light veggie, a touch fruity aroma. Slightly chewy, a bit dank, floral, grassy flavor. One of my least favorites from HF.

Poured from a growler thanks to starrdogg. Poured a really light golden yellow color with a fizzy look and a light white head. Some light malty character to it, some floral notes, and some grassy hop character. Flavor was light hops, with some malt character to it. Sessonable, but that’s about it.

At the risk of sounding like a jerk and getting a lot of flack, and while I love many of the beers from HF, methinks that this beer might not have such a high rating if not for the brewery. Perhaps it’s time for Shaun to secretly brew a few batches under a nom de plume brewery name and see if gets even half the praise some of these entries give.
