From last year's advent calendar. Inky dark brown high viscosity, small head. Nose of sweet dark sugar, light soy, bready goodness. Very sweet on the tongue, smooth with hints of refined spirits. Syrupy cognac and vanilla. Very tasty, definitely on the dessert-sweet side of the force.

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark black with light tan head. Aromas of oaky cognac, sharp roasted malts and black coffee. Flavors of boozy cognac, black coffee and roasted malts. Dry and clean but maybe a bit too strong on the cognac barrel. Still, very good!

Bottle.Nose is dark chocolate, fruit cake, brandy, figs, malty, caramel, faint burnt note that stops i being cloying. Very rich and inviting.

Taste is pronounced bourbon and brandy, lots from the conditioning, leading to malt, chocolate, lots of fruit, brown sugar, hint of soy and salt in the lasting finish with just a faint burnt toast.

Very well balanced, rich but not cloying. Superb

Super nice smooth roasted malty aroma, little bit of a hint of a milky note, otherwise just roasted malts overload and some salt, wood, fainter bourbon and cognaq. the boozy notes are tempered and integrated into the total aroma, i would probably not be able to guess with high confidence this was bourbon and cognaq. complex and well blended. also notes of brown sugar, charred wood. flavor is very woody with notes of charred wood, glue and salt. on top of this hard roasted charred malts and ordinary roasted malts. the lacto is almost not noticeable bot quite probably helped temper the agressiveness of the flavor. Aftertaste is only as strong as the flavor itself, but it lasts for a long while. Pretty solid BA imp stout, pretty wild too. kihoskh calendar #20

almost black colour, one inch of dense dark brown head; aroma of dark chocolate, or rather chocolate mousse, lactose, bourbon, some , nutty, raisins and cognac notes; taste is the same; excellent 'beer'
