Brewed in collaboration with Nipo-Brazilian brewery Japas, this unique twist on the Yorkshire classic combines our shared values of heritage and ancestry: beer with a story. Our friends from afar use ingredients inspired by their Japanese and Brazilian origins, and, with a strong, dark malty base, we’ve added in cacao nibs and cherry juice.

Can from Beer52. Pours ruby with s small beige top, modest retention. Aroma of dark malts, glazed cherries, chocolate - inviting! Taste has a toasty dark malt, liquorice, chocolate, cherry, brown sugar. Medium body and carbonation, semi-smooth, decent bitterness. The adjuncts have not been overdone and have added to the flavour. I think this is better than the original of which I gave a 3.7.

[33cl can from Beer52’s collaborations box.] A beautiful looking beer - a clear rich chestnut pour with a close pale caramel coloured head; aroma of rich malts, dried fruits and cocoa powder; the taste is similar with a weighty malt body carrying sour cherries, rich chocolate, dates and raisins, nicely balanced so as not too sweet; then a luxurious fruity chocolate finish. A good beer made even better.
