Score
7.37
ABV: 8.0% IBU: - Ticks: 1
First of three grape ales from 2023 harvest. Whole cluster Vermont grown Frontenac Noir fermented, then a brief stand with a matured oak aged wheat ale. Dark berry wine aromatics, a touch of brioche.

Gorgons were three mythical sisters, of whom Medusa is the most well known. The art is drawn in wine, inspired by the depictions of Ancient Greek pottery.

Bottle drunk 1/1/25.
Deep violet-burgundy-crimson. Clear. Pink head.
Beautiful, almost lightly saline grape in the nose shows no aggressive acidity and is backed by a wheat-like, soft, biscuity maltiness. Light Brett, moderate funk overall, vanilla, cherry and blueberry notes with mild floral and pure, unadulterated, aged red wine on the finish.
In the mouth it's stunning: what all grape "sours" should aspire to. The grape shows low acid, nothing punchy, sharp or heavily drying, with a meaty, juicy, earthy and lightly salty flavor that is softened by oak, wheat and malt. Perfect balance with exquisite flavors and a supple texture. Dry, but not too dry. A masterpiece.
