Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 29/10/2014. Copper coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweet malts aplenty, with a touch of roastiness and trace of orange fruit, before a gentle finish. Good.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - amber to chestnut. Decent head. Nose - toffee and hazelnuts so praline but not too sweet. Taste - more hazelnuts but this time coated in chocolate. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a lot going on for the low ABV.

Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading. Amber-brown with a lasting white head. Chocolate and roast chestnuts up front, but these are soon overtaken by pine hoppiness. The malts are decent, not sure the pine hops really suit them though. Nevertheless it’s a decent beer; well balanced with a good rich texture. Just think citrus hops might have done it more favours.

Tried at the Royal Hop Pole, Twekesbury. Amber colour with small off white head. Aroma has malt and a touch of fruit. The taste has this to, with a nice bitter finish.

Taste comprises shades of crunchy nut cornflakes, toasted nut, brown sugar, caramel. Medium bodied, soft carbnation, light bitternings in the close. Pleasant enough brown.

Cask handpull Hamilton Hall Spoons. Clear dark brown lasting off white head. Decent attempt at an American Brown but like many there is too much hop and not enough balancing hop. Some milk chocolate flavour. Some grapefruit lime hop. Good attempt though and I do like this style of beer.
