A collaboration between Surly and the traveling Danish brewer Mikkel Bjergsø, this beer takes the concept of an IPA, blends in a variety of new German aroma hop varietals, and ferments them with Brettanomyces, rather than a traditional English ale strain. Light-bodied and dry, the combination of Brett and hop varieties offers complex earthy notes with tropical and candied fruit aromas, while the Honey Malt provides an intense malt sweetness.

Ganska torr medelstor coitrusskalsbeska. Gott.

750ml bottle. Deep orange-brown amber colour with a foamy white head leaving lacing. Lemon citrus rind, grain, barnyard aroma. Taste is malt caramel, then tart lemon rind, orange zest, fruity and horseblanket notes, with pine and grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy light bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

24.04.2016, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Big slightly bubbly-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is fresh citrusy, mild brett, minerals, leafs, citrus peel, hops, moss, lawn, hay, alcohol, paper, light malts. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, light malts, sugar, mild brett, bark, weeds, minerals, paper, leafs, lawn, moss, pine needles, soap. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh soapy mouthfeel. Not really my cup of tea. I guess I’ll age a bottle for a while though...

Hoppy fruity malty nose. Long lasting head with lots of lace. Flavor’s really good with the Brett blending well with the hops malts and carbonic tang. Very drinkable.
