The ingredients of the Gruit have been carefully chosen, however, to complement and accentuate the hop flavours - spicy, citrusy, peppery and floral. Banks’s Botanical Beer - a true taste of yesterday; today; and tomorrow

Third at the royal hop pole Twekesbury. JDW, Rochester. Golden colour with lasting white head. Aroma has a touch of damp dog, but thankfully not the taste. The taste has fruit, but a touch too much sweetness for me.

17th Oct 2014 in my local Wetherspoons: third of a pint, obviously cask. Golden clear body with a good white head that gave off some lacing: shall we stop there? Maybe my palate is not refined enough to pick up the subtle aromas and tastes this beer is supposed to possess. I thought it bland and uninteresting with nothing to get my teeth or senses into. Glad I only had a third of a pint.

Cask @ Turls Green, Bradford. Golden-amber with a creamy head. Well balanced beer with a very palatable texture. There’s some spice with the hop.

Cask at JDW Bishop Vesey; clear amber pour with a creamy off white head, bit of floral action aroma, taste has feint nut, biscuit, spice, basic stuff.
