On Tap deep inky black with a lasting dense light brown head. Big rich chocolaty malt aromas and flavors. Tons of smooth slightly sweet roastiness. Smooth body, perfectly complimentary boozy oak barrel character. Everything melds together perfectly. Very good.

Keg at APEX, PDX, 09/11/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering that clears to a swirl then hangs in there. Nose is light roast, chocolate, spice, hint of booze, dark fruit tones. Taste comprises chocolate, coconut shavings, bourbon rinse, dates, raisens, woody tones. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lick’o’booze. Decent enough BBA impy although lacks complexity for the ABV.

Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Black pour with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing. Bourbon, malt and chocolate in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, oaky vanilla and malt. The finish is mildly boozy with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap at PIB, pours black with a gig tan head. Aroma brings out heavy bourbon notes above anything, along with secondary notes of vanilla and oak. Flavour is a ridiculous bourbon bomb, with basically nothing but bourbon, followed by vanilla. Extremely soft and uncarbonated palate. Not very complex or interesting, but drinkable.
