Bottle, 2001 02 03. Dark, no head, oily. Dates, figs, licorice, tobacco, malt. Smooth, some warmth, licorice umami soy sauce. I am surprised, but it seems I like old stuff.

Poured from 33cl bottle (from the Fiulijnator Cellar). Very dark brown, a bit foggy, with no head. Soy sauce, dark fruits, cardboard oxidation.

Bottle at the beer bistro.
Black pour, beige head.
Big roasty aroma, soy, licroice, piney hops. solid mouthfeel, and carbonation. Finish was quite bitter, but very satisfying. Big notes of burnt malt, espresso, and roasted/burnt malts. great stout.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, spicy notes, dried fruits, raisins, chocolate, with notes of liquorice. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. A very Belgian style Stout, like a blend of Stout and Belgian strong dark ale flavours. Not exactly how I like my Stout, but it’s an interesting beer, very different.

Bottle at 1900 Art Cafe. Med-thin body, medium carbonation. ABV hidden well. Nice solid roasty base, with a hint of smoke, ashy, tobacco. I do not get much belgiany presence, only a hint. Easy drinking, quite good.

Draught at Monk's: pours black with beige head. Aroma is chocolatey, slight coffee, soya, and hints of Belgian yeast. Taste is relatively dry, chocolatey, not bitter. Solid.
