Clear deep redish brown. Thin ring of fine beige bubbles. Not much barrel aging flavors on this rather plain malty brown beer. Lacking much of the rich nutty DB character. Plain and not very interesting

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a hazy dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a nice mix of toasted caramel, light nuttiness, and barrel notes that accentuate the caramel nicely. Flavour brings out the barrel notes more, with woody oak and toasted caramel malts in great harmony. Lager barre aging done well. Balanced and easy to drink. Very good.

Draught at Portland Craft, Vancouver; 6.7% ABV
Mahogany color, clean, with compact head. It has a good caramel character, the sweetness is very moderate, a bit too thin for a Doppelbock, but the barrel adds a delicate touch to the caramel and the result is peasant.

Draught. Dark brown pour with smoky, barrel and malty aroma. Full malty flavour. Sweet finish. This is a special and will be soon gone.
