330ml bottle while watching I, Daniel Blake. From trade with MonsterMagnet. Many thanks chap! Pours a hazed amber, good white head. Nice smoked ham in the aroma. Taste has a nice smoked character with a well-integrated soft, earthy nuttiness from the rye, some fruity marmalade hints. Can’t detect much Whisky influence at all, but still a nice smoked beer.

Danke an Beerhunter111. Stark karbonisierter, würzig herber Antrunk. Mild würzig, leider etwas alkoholisch. Spritzig, hefig, rund bitter, würzig. Okay. 10/10/9/9//9

Bottle. Hazy golden pour. Aroma has soft bacony peat, yeast, orange fruit, mild smoke and caramel. Taste has orange zest, mild bacon, soft smoke, yeast, buttery caramel and subtle spicey peat in the finish. Quite elegant and tasty.

33 cl bottle from the brewery’s webshop @ home. Hazy orange/amber color. Almost white head, somewhat sticky & frothy. Aroma’s of smoked malts, light fruit. Retronasal it’s fruity, light smoke, light sweet, light alcohol. Flavor is light to moderate sweet, light fruity, a bit alcohol. Alcohol feels stronger than 6% (and probably is). Medium bodied. Finish is slightly dry, light bitter, tannines. It’s definitely different from the base beer, but apart from the finish I don’t get much barrel. Nice nonetheless.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 12 2017, 33 cl sample. Almost clear amber color, medium rocky head. Aroma has slight smoke, some peaty and alcoholic whisky and grainy malt. Feels a lot like a regular grainy high alcohol whisky nose, which I dont particularly like. Slight peaty and smokey in taste, bit dry, slight burned caramel, bit juniper berry. I have to admit that the whisky and the beer blend well together, although the beer itself is probably a bit on the light side in flavor. Still, the barrel aging is definitely not overdone. Its just not my kind of barrel and beer combo.

Bottle [from trade with bierkoning, thanks!] @ home shared with Dutchdrrebus and Ansjelaah. Hazy yellow to light orange color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, smoke, light peat, medium to firm bitter, more smoke / peat. Quite smokey, but still very very balanced.
