A Swedish recipe for a Scottish ale, brewed on Scottish malt and American hops at Scotland's oldest brewery. It is the result of a unique collaboration between the Dalabryggeriet Oppigårds and the Scottish Belhaven Brewery. Oppigårds Belhaven Scottish Beer is a full and malt ale with lovely hops.

Draught. Deep ambery orange colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some spiciness, mild alcohol, nutty and some toffeeish tones too. Flavour is pretty much following the same pattern as the aroma for elements.

(Bottle) Brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, dark bread, toast, treacle-toffee and orange peel. Malty taste with caramel, dried fruit, bread, brown sugar, orange peel, hay and a balanced citric, slightly metallic, bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quiet dry. Tasty and well balanced brown ale. Quite nice.

Tap at the Dove, Ipswich. Pours amber with a creamy lasting white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, slightly medicinal. Medium plus sweetness with light bitterness. Medium body and slight sticky texture. Carbonation is soft. Medicinal sweet finish.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Belhaven / Oppigårds Skotsk Öl ].Clear medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, dusty malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, malt, dusty, nutty - bread notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160109]

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. cabage notes. Light bitter flavor. Average light bitter finish. Caramel and no whisky. Average finish. oily palate.
