50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 03.01.2020
Aroma is sweet with berry juice. Mild cocoa, ash and tobacco tones too. Flavour has berry juice, red wine tones, salty licorice and ash. Finishes with grapefruity, lingering hops. Somewhat thin, straightforward and juice-like. Less hops, more body!

0,5l bottle from Alko. Black beer with good brown head. Aroma has oat, milk, roasted malts and coffee. Taste has oat, coffee, roasted malts and some sweetness with drier hops in good balance. Almost full body, low carbonation. Combination of coffee and oats.

Bottled 500ml (Alko)
Opaque brown colour, good beige creamy head. Toasted, a bit milky and licoricey aroma. Perhaps alcohol lurking a bit too. Medium to full-bodied. Toasted, cocoa, licorice, hops, bread in the flavour. Alcoholic finish but otherwise soft palate. Well-brewed but not the most exiciting strong beer from Malmgård.

Draught @ Kaisla, Helsinki. Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma has loads of malts, oat porridge, roastiness, earthy notes, chocolate and coffee. Taste is sweetish, slightly roasty and and malty with some oatmeal, chocolate, licorice, coffee and earthiness. Finish is smooth, sweetish and slightly roasty with some licorice and oatmeal notes. Pretty balanced and quite good.

50cl bottle from Alko. Poured pitch black with a thin espresso head, lasts long. Roastedness, some licorice, chocolate in aroma. Oat gives it smoothness. Vanilla silky thing in flavor, roastedness, some ashy notes, dark chocolate. Long finish. Lacks bit of body but overall a well made imperial stout.

(Keg at Kaisla, 20180214) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, dark chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste had dark chocolate, burnt malts and bitterness. A well done strong burnt brew. Balanced.

A black beer, a head is small and light brown. Aroma has strong roastiness, coffee, pine, also some freshness of fruits. Taste has coffee, roastiness, nice and piney bitterness, smooth. Medium+ bodied, smoothness of oat. Nice beer, the oat has made what it's supposed to do, the smoothness. Roastiness and coffee. I like this beer.
