Bottle. Almost black. Licorice, roast and chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with chocolate and dominating salted licorice. Vanilla. Roasty finish. Tasty, but the balance could be better.

dark brown colour, moderate sized dense beige head;aroma and taste of cocoa powder or dark chocolate, herbal liqueur, minimal licorice, some roasted nuts and caramellized syrupy bittersweetness; great one!

Freezing Midtown tasting. Dark brown pour with some beige foam on top. Cocoa nose, toffee and something herbal. Taste has cocoa, bitter chocolate and yes, it does have some herbal bitterness there as well. Pretty herbal actually. Burnt rye bread with all its spices. Herbal bitter linger in the finish.

Thanks! Sampled draft @ Beerlovers Bar. Dark brown going to black. Nose is too soy sauce mixed with sweet sugar & cacao. Taste is sweet cacao, mocha & brownie but also too umami, both sides are equally present, basic sugar & soy sauce little complexity, too soy sauce for me.

Draught Very huge tan-beige head, stable, over virtually black beer. Cacao, grilled sausage, chocolate, BBQ sauce, ketjap manis. Black chocolate, roasted, cacao, liquorice, jap, dark green leaves. Alcoholheat, warming; slick to viscous, full-bodied. Not really thàt cacao-dominated.

On tap at Beerlovers Bar Antwerpen. A almost black beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of liqourice, dark moderate sweet malt, tonka beans. Taste is sweet strong dark malt, chocolate, liqourice, tonka beans.
