Bottle. Very dark brown in the glass, with a dense finger thick beige head. Lacing. Roasted, almost burnt aroma with some licorice. Dried fruit notes. It’s dry and medium bodied, with a soft carbonation level. Roasted malts, coffee grit and a burnt touch. Nice roasted kind of bitterness. Lasting roasted finish. Quite lovely this one, although I wouldn’t mind some more hoppy flavors. 150905

Keg at Brewdog Shepard’s bush. Dark but brown coloured pour with with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is nutty milky coffee, toasted coconut, cocoa. Flavour is composed of tart bitter coffee in the finish, toasted coconut, harsh carbonic acid bite. Palate is a bit thin, high carbonation, a bit abrasive. A little tart raspberry and dark cocoa lingers.

Bottle from CBB, served in my stout glass. Man CAP has really stepped up their game labelwise compared to what I saw last year. This Oatmeal Stout from Sweden pours a cola black with a huge foamy tan head. The nose is fruity, toasted oats, chocolate, berries quite sweet. Medium-light bodied with a deeply bitter roastiness, toasted oats and cacao.

Draught @ Bishops Örebro. Pours dark blackish brown with a small mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and roasty with roasted malts, dark bread, burnt caramel, toasted cereal, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and moist soil. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly bitter, very tiny sour, malty and roasty. Mouthfeel is sparkling, round, slightly roasted astringent, tiny watery and light to medium bodied. Finish instinct sweet and bitter with roasted malts, toasted cereal, dark roast coffee, cocoa powder, liquorice, soot and minerals. Solid stout...
