This is an IPA brewed with a Norwegian yeast strain. This along with our hop selection of Simcoe and Mosaic has created some crazy, crisp Tangerine flavors with an attractive dry orange peel bitterness. We are calling this beer "Voss IPA” after the region in Norway that this farmhouse yeast hails from.

16 oz. can, pours a cloudy peachy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with dank hops, some pot, and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with dank hops, some pot, piney and citrusy notes, and biscuity malt. Piney, pithy, and dank on the palate. Good stuff.

16 ounce can. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. A big funky citrus nose. Rich flavors, husky round lemons, citrus, sour wheat, a bit of funk. Interesting. Quite tasty.

@ Beer Junction. Opaque, medium head. Very papaya, bitter, grapefruit, a touch doughy but pretty tasty with big bright.

Draft pour pint at Hop and Hound, Bothell. Then another pint. Couldn’t help it. Thick, hazy orange juice pour with a cream cap head. What a treat this IPA is. Aroma is bursting with a tart tropical fruit. Mango, orange, pineapple. Sour fruit smoothie like aroma. Flavor is a little tart too, wondering if this was inintentional, or a nice mistake. Tropical Fruit constant flavor. Orange juice. Fruit puree. Flavor matches the aroma pretty closely. Really wondering if this is another beer that Matchless adds no fruit at all, much to my surprise, but just finds a magical hop combination instead. Coming from the brewer that shows us that hops are the new fruit, I’m not too surprised to see the level of mixed fruit here. Peaches in the late palate. Creamy vanilla to round the flavor out. The tart constant seems to seperate this from the rest of the pack. This is a damn near perfect IPA for my taste. Fun to experience this new Norwegian yeast strain, and find gold in the first taste. Starting to look like there will be some competition in the local Seattle IPA game. This was one of the best I’ve had. Seriously impressed with this one.
