Cask at The White Hart. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is earthy roast, dark fruits, mild acidity, berry and treacle. The taste is earthy roast, toast, dark fruits, berry, pepper, treacle and mild astringency with a dry, toasty finish. OK. A touch flat, but drinkable enough.

Tap at brewpub. Clear brown amber color, small white head. Chocolate and toasted notes in the nose. Medium-bodied. Caramel, only mildly toasted maltyness, light grassy hops. Ok not really roasted.

On tap at The White Hart. Dark dark brown colour. Chocolate flavour. Smooth. Like milk chocolate. It’s pretty decent. Ok milk chocolate porter. Bit fizzy.

White Hart. Cask. Clear dark amber beer, residual pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with modest fine carbonation. Pretty mild dark malts, traces of dark chocolate and coffee. Mellow tangy darolk fruits. Finishes semi dry. The flavours are in good balance but this is a mild porter.

Cask at the White Hart, 24/10/14. Black with a decent khaki covering that retains well. Nose is earthy roast, chocolate, light spice, toffee, molasses. Taste comprises earthy roast, toffee fudge, cocoa rub, brown sugar. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweetish licks in the close tempered with roasty tunes. Decent enough porter.

Cask at the White Hart - London. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Lots of chalky chocolate in the aroma, soft roast, milk cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with some burnt leaves, moist earth, cocoa, wood. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and soft mouthfeel. Finishes with milk cocoa, some burnt earth bitterness, wood. So so.
