An opaque brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of roasted coffee, but also a faint note of butter. The flavor is sweet roasted combined with light notes of malt, coffee, and vegetables.

Black color. Aroma of malt and fudge. Good body structure; malty and with good roasted malt; some coffee and roasted malt; very light sourness. Balanced, well blended, original, complex. This is a good beer Henrik!

Bottle pours an opaque black witha very large milk chocolate colored head. Arolmas of mainly chocolate malts and dark roasted but sweet malts. I don’t notice much coffee here yet. Slightl acidic sour porter like aroma as well. Flavor was more of the coffe I was expecting but mainly on the aftertaste. Yes, quitre thin and kind of a light weight at 4.4% and low on the unfermented sugars. Not bad. Now that I think of it the delayed aftertaste is like the combo of cigarette buts and coffee grounds. Black with a huge brown head. Coffee aroma. Flavor of smooth, mild coffee. Very well balanced and easy to drink. Bitter finish.

Sampled at From The Vine monthly beer tasting Aug 4th, 2003: I normally like the coffee aspect in many Stouts but in this case it is a little too much. Pours like a cup of cold coffee. Very small beige head and thin lacing. Aroma is coffee, coffee, coffee. A little on the thin and brittle side for a Stout. This is actually leaning toward a Porter in many ways. The coffee flavor is dominant, with a slight roasty malt presence, but you have to search for it. The finish is a little watery and maintains the bitter coffee flavor found throughout. Lakefront really seems to be hit and miss to me.

Looks alright - tan head, good lacing, opaque body - but smells and tastes like thin, weak coffee - watery mouthfeel - thin palate - I've been trying some good stouts lately, but this isn't one of them.

Black. Very coffeeish aroma. Slightly thin body. lots of coffee, which I usually don't go for, but this is a quality roast, with none of the vegetal flavours found in some other coffee beers. Smoothly drinkable.
