Keg at the Eden Street tap. Dark and yeah just stygian. Thick foamy beige head. Aroma has light sweet malts over delicate bitter coffee and charcoal. Flavourwise it has creamy coffee with a light berry beige. A peripheral hint of more bitterness... ala charcoal. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly to somewhat astringent. Nice. Easy drinking Stout. Wonder what those lager-turned Guinness drinkers would think.

On tap at Kernel Spa Road. Black beer lasting tan head. Chocolate aroma. Smooth nitro stout flavour in the mouth. Light bitterness some depth of malt. Some coffee flavour some chocolate. It's decent, would happily drink this above standard nitro stout.

From cask, half pint.
Poured near black in color, espresso head.
Pleasantly smooth mouthfeel, sweetish, at the same time nice roasted malty and coffee notes. Lovely.

Tap. Spa Road. Would have looked amazing bar the bubbles in the glass. Lots of chocolate and woody char. Creamy but thin overall. Ok

Keg at Kernel Spa Road. It pours darkest brown - black with a dense, foamy carbonation. The aroma is bitter - sweet, creamy, dark roasted malt, milk chocolate, coffee grounds, toasty and mocha. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, toasty, smooth, deep roast, bitter - sweet, some tannin, nice chocolate vibes, coffee grounds, cacao nibs, charred, peppery spice with a dry, dark roasted malt. Medium body, average, foamy carbonation. Robust, well rounded. Moreish.

Keg at Mother Arch III, 28/08/24. Pitch black with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, dried fruits, mellow roast, toffee crisp. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, light roast, dusty hop presence, cocoa powder. Medium bodied, soft massaging velvety carbonation, semi drying close. A well made nitro affair with a great body but also a sound flavour base that this sub genre often lacks.
