Bottle at Craig’s. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of solvents, chocolate cake. Taste is more fruitcake. Sweet finish. Hot.

Bottle in Columba house hotel. Pours black, nose is cherry, chocolate, berries, spice, taste is similar, sweet, a little fizzy.

Keg at Six D Aberdeen. It pours near black with a decent tan head. The nose is cocoa, earthy roast, coffee, vimto, dark fruits, jammy berry, light spice and cherry cola. The taste is bitter, rich roast, charred wood, berry, mild acidity, toasty, warming alcohol, jam, cola, cherry, grape skin and festive spice with a drying, earthy finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Good depth. Pretty tasty, but I have to admit I prefer last years version.
