Named after the ethereal song by the one and only Deftones, Phantom Bride IPA is a blend of Amarillo, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic hops delicately balanced for the perfectly drinkable mix of citrus and hoppy goodness. A truly original Deftones/ Belching Beaver collaboration envisioned by Chino Moreno and skillfully crafted by Thomas Peters. Sit back, put on your headphones and drink away.

Can, 0.473l. Aroma of peach, melon, mango, passion fruit and resin. Pours cloudy golden color with medium sized frothy white head, nice lacing and soft visible carbonation. Taste starts ripe fruity and biscuity, following is resinous, bready, dank, medicinal and herbal, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Phantom fruitiness & devilβs maltiness...

Pale yellow colour with light haze. Aroma and flavour have an interesting citrus peel and coriander seed tanginess. Very different and very refreshing.

Can (9/4/19) pour from Valley Beverage Company, Sherman Oaks. Appearance is hazy yellow with champagne-like effervescence of bubbles adhering to the side of the glass and tons of lively bubbles rising to the surface, with finger-width white fizzy head with poor retention and decent leggy lacing. Aroma is sweet and tart citrus, mild resin, and grainy malts. Taste follows aroma with resin higher in the mix. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste--mostly tart fruit and grains. Overall, I knew this was a bit old but decided to take a chance on it. The hops almost certainly aren't what they once were, and my guess is fresher would lean more to the sweet fruity side, but think this is still fairly true.

Can at Bierbarry. With Deftones since Adrenaline, so this is a fun find in a local bar. Sweet malts, floral and tropical fruity, soft vanilla. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Bonus points.

16oz can from Woodmans. $10.49 a sixpack. Rather balanced, classical West Coast IPA, perhaps lead a little bit into the future with the Mosaic. Quite a clean, mellow mouthfeel. No dextrose, no wheat, no oats, no syrup...yum. Almost has some straight up Pale Ale ( Think Daisy Cutter) tendencies, as the crackery malt tone is as present as the steady, balanced hop bill. Really good.

Medium body. Prima IPA maar niet heel opzienbarend.
