Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Cloudy amber-orange with a thin creamy head. Has a heavy bubble-gum aroma with this sweetness transferring into its taste too, although the style is still recognisably a weizen, albeit clearly a cask one.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Aroma of orange, Calpol and musty wheat. Flavour of hand sanitiser, wet cardboard and banana. Thin body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. There’s a strange medicinal quality to this. I couldn’t finish the bottle - drain pour.

Cask at the Moorings, Aberdeen, 21/06/14. Murky pale yellow with a moderate off white covering that retains well. Nose is banana, yeast, clove, spice, classic hefe notes, light caramel. Taste comprises banoffee pie, banana, custard, light citric rinse, bready pangs. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok hefe.

Cask at Number 27, Inverness. It pours cloudy golden with a medium foamy white head. The nose is sweet, ripe banana, earth, wheat, clove and hay. The taste is smooth, banana bread, wheat, dough, touch of spice, sweet apple, light bitterness and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty fruity stuff. Solid weizen beer action and actually rather drinkable.
