Cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Clear light gold with a loose off-white head. The aroma is surpringly light. I get a touch of ginger but there's also hay and buttered toast. Taste has a strong note of lemongrass and ginger later in the sip, but it feels like it's an attempt to disguise a pretty boring base beer. It's sweet and slightly buttery with suggestions of citrus in the finish. Carbonation is soft to nil. Struggling with this one.

Cask Gravity at Moira Furnace Folk Festival, Moira, Leics/Derby’ border. Saturday 19th August 2017 Mid dark gold, good clarity, a sprinkling of bubbles atop. This is my 500th Derbyshire rate . Refreshing but the bitterness is a touch harsh at the back end. It’s only after 3-4 sips I get the ginger but then it really does come through and steadily shows throughout. A nice beer just a little harsh at finish. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Cask. Gravity dispense. Barrow Hill jamboree. Straw colour. Soft haze. Film of white head. Nose has vegetal, soapy lemon. Taste is dry. Minimal sweetness. No bitterness to speak of. Thin body. Dry finish. Not for me.

Cask at the Rail Ale Festival Chesterfield, 2016. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is indeed lemongrass and ginger! The flavour is light bitter with a fruity citrus light spicy hop, lemongrass palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Chesterfield Rail Ale Jolly with RB crew; clear straw yellow pour with a thin white head, aroma has strong ginger and lemon grass, taste has ginger biscuits along with citrus action, doesn’t work for me.
