Cask at Hop and Berry, Islington, 22/10/14. Clear golden with a moderately appointed off white head of bubbles. Nose is pale malt, melon, bread dough, light citric vibes, straw. Taste comprises pale maltings, grain, bitter orange, toasty notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Average/OK golden blonde, NOT an APA nowhere near the hop presence or typical ABV of said style.

330ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour with huge, frothy to macropore, long lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grassy and herbal hoppy aroma, a touch of gooseberry, some peppery spicy yeast action. Taste is grassy bitter hoppy, some peppery hay and yeast spiciness, a touch of brine. Rather rough ’n’ raw, Saison echoes; after all more yeast than hop accentuated. Cool.

Cask at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has dried grains, some pine, grass, grapefruit. Light sweet flavor with a hard bitter edge, lots of grass, pine needles, grapefruit pith, bitter grain husks. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Further bitter grains and grass on the finish, soft dry and toasty pale malts, more citrus pith, some rind. So so.
