The second beer in our new Barrel Select program has finished its rest and is ready to be shared. This Imperial Stout, a collaborative effort with the Arizona Bourbon Society, was finished for two weeks on toasted almonds and cacao nibs. With a background of American oak, the forward complexity presents a truly delicious dessert profile. Flavors of amaretto, dark bakers chocolate, dried fruit, aged vanilla, and rich bourbon change and grow as the beer warms in your glass.

Bottle split with Reubs at Himmeriget, CPH, 17/11/22. Pitch black with a moderately presented tam head that collapses to nothing. Nose is dark malts, chocolate, spice, charr, molasses, dried fruits, toffee fudge. Taste comprises mellow roast, vanilla, cacao nibs, toffee, mellow bourbon rip, fruit cake. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a balanced rising boost. Not bad but no Wow.

Bottle shared@Himmeriget, Copenhagen (17/11/2022) - black with almost no head. Sweet dark malty with lots of chocolate, cocoa nibs, caramel, nutty accents, full bodied, vanilla sweetness and bourbon kicking in to the dark strong warming malty lingering finish.

12oz light blue waxed bottle pours with a nice deep dark colored body that supports a thin ring of tiny tan bubbles. The aroma offers up smooth bourbon and a bit of coconut infused marshmallow followed by dark roasted malts and chocolate. The taste delivers a smooth supple blend of bourbon infused milk chocolate and dark roasted malts. To midway the flavor notes become increasingly more vibrant yet at the same time fairly blended and integrated. This is a straight forward deep rich balanced stout sipper. I love it.
