Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2021 - Hackney. Pours clear deep gold with a foamy, white head. Lightly sweet with pleasant bready pale malts, light bitter straw, vague fruity notes, a little dough and English yeast. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, more pale bread, low bitterness. Quite drinkable overall.

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Mango and passion fruit in the aroma. Mango continues in the mouth, along with pineapple and hints of lime and caramel. Finish is quite dry. Very refreshing and quite nice – and I don’t like mango ! PS for once Untappd have it right, this is a pale ale not an IPA. Hops are noticeable by their absence.
