(Bottle) Almost black colour, with hints of ruby. Frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, cacao, black rye bread, pine needles and grapefruit. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of black coffee, black rye bread, pine needles, mint, roasted malt, grapefruit and a generous piney, almost inky, bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. A bit harsh, but tasty and well made black IPA. Nice one.

Flaske 330ml fra 4-pack kjøpt på Systembolaget Storuman. Delt med Rune på Nerstranda 24 Okt 15. Svart. Middels høyt skum med litt farge. Pene filigranser. Forsiktig sjokoladearoma. Smaken tørr & balansert. Syrlig frukt. Bra!

330ml bottle from a Sigtuna four-pack, thanks to Finn for sharing. Dense fawn-coloured head to a pitch black body. Lacing rings down the glass. Roasted smell of brown malts and pine needles. Similar roasted taste of pine, leafy hops, toffee and coffee. Lingering bittersweet tail. Fine bodied. Lovely stuff (at Finn’s, Tromsø 24.10.2015).

Draft. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of hops and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, roasted malt, bread, and lemons, leading to a bitter finish.

[ As Sigtuna Black IPA ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, moderate to heavy hoppy, grapefruit, licorice, licorice wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, grapefruit, licorice, roasted, dark malt, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150821]
