Bottle from Patrick at Cooks as a random gift. Incredibly sophisticated use of the barrel ageing outside and in the bottle. This beer was probably made about. Years ago and we drank it almost 3 years out of date. The aroma was literally like smelling a whisky, if it was a blind tasting I would have said whisky. Nice colour. Smooth to drink with of course strong whisky but also some gentle liquorice. A superb beer.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, smoke, wood, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, smoke, wood, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

(Bottle) Dark reddish brown colour with brief, frothy, beige head. Malty, smoky nose with notes of caramel, liquorice, dried fruit, wood, tar, treacle-toffee, chocolate and cacao. Malty, smoky taste with caramel, tar, oak wood, vanilla, liquorice, dark chocolate, treacle-toffee and a mild spicy bitterness. More than medium body, quite sweet. Quite smoky with tar and liquorice, but fairly well balanced for its strength. Nice one.

Flaska från SB som stått i två år. Mahognybrun med krämigt ljusbeige skum. Lätt rökig doft med mycket malt i bakgrunden med söta toner av torkad frukt, whisky och fudge. Snygg med bra balans och mjuk harmonisk munkänsla. Lagom mycket torv och rök möter en rejäl kropp. Riktigt trevlig.

Appearance: Almost black color with a nice big beige head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Good intensity. Not very hard to detect the Mackmyra.
Palate: Full body. Tad sweet with an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Quite rich Mackmyra whiskey. Hell, fire and wood.
Overall impression: Soild stuff. But not really my kind of beer. Must be heaven for those who like it. Can not point out something wrong. Well masken alcohol.

Bottled 500ml (AIH53)
Dark brown color, small steady brownish head. Peaty whisky aroma with toasted notes. Medium-bodied. Peat, toasted malts, some caramalt, tar. Somewhat short finish. Nice whisky treatment.

Bottle 500ml. [ As Jämtlands Cask Edition Strong Ale ].[ Trade by omhper ]. Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, wood, peat - close to medicine. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, peat, sweet malt, wood, dry, sticky. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150620]

50 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting, Ulfborg. BBE 18.12.2105
Aroma has pleasant smoky tones and new leather shoes. Flavour has smoke notes, new leather shoes, peat and some licorice. A bit too sweet but I like the smoky tones here.
