Bottle, 75cl corked. A dark brown to black beer topped by a dense, small, dark beige head. Boozy aroma with licorice and roasted malts, some brown sugar and a spiced, star anise perhaps, woody hint. It’s full-bodied and smooth on the palate, warming and quite sweetish, with roasted malts, licorice, brown sugar and some notes of cellar and stale malts. Lasting spiced, roasted finish with a sugary touch. Nothing special going on, and too spiced for my liking. 160130
