750ml (thx, Christophe L.!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: pours like an oil, very dark brown with almost no head. Aroma: bourbon barrel, some burnt character, very thick, some sweetness. Taste: very thick, very bourbon barrel and wood forward. Getting warmer it got also some whiskey notes. Overall: pretty good, but it is very different from the vanilla version, it doesn't work as great as its sibling, surprisingly quite far from it.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Near black with very minimal beige ring head. Boozy bourbon, a subtle ashy character, oily, molasses, subdued fruity sweetness.

Dark brown, pours really thick. No head. The aroma brings out some sticky molasses/fruitcake notes. We have some bitterness up front, a fair bit of booziness, some sweet toffee/molasses sugars as well. It finishes thick, but with a lot of bitterness. Definitely goes in the burnt fruit direction, rather than roast.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out an earthy bourbon barrel character upfront, with molasses, umami and fungal motes. Flavour is sludgy and thick, with umami and fungal notes, molasses, and earthy bourbon. Very thick and sludgy, with nowhere near the complexity of the vanilla version. This is surprisingly disappointing considering how good the vanilla version is. Sludge city here. It's not complex, nor really delivers much of what I like. Mediocre.
