Bottle from thebeershop.be. Hazy amber colour, white foam. Sweet nose of malts, cow fodder, banana. Taste is very estery, some citrus. Not bad but a bit unbalanced.

Centennial-hopped white IPA, 75 cl bottle shared with tderoeck and Craftmember. Wafer-thin and immediately open, egg-white ‘head’ (strangely so as both hops and wheat increase head formation and stability), hazy ‘dirty’ orangey peach blonde robe. Aroma of bitter grapefruit peel, wormwood leaves, bitterroot, rosewater, pine-scented hand soap, biscuit, green melon, peach, bitter orange, thyme, margarine, soap, linseed – very distinctive again, as I am used to from this somewhat bizarre but always interesting microbrewery. Sweetish onset, peach, apple and unripe mango accents, softish carb, slick mouthfeel with an oily and very resinous quality; biscuity, rusk-like and cereally malt body with some wheat soapiness to it, blending with a piney and very strongly grapefruity Centennial hoppiness but also a (probably phenolic) spicy effect of rosewater, cloves and thyme. The hops provide long and rooty, drying bitterness yet not as harshly and astringently so as in several other hop-forward Brabant beers, keeping everything elegant and smooth, with a light bready yeast touch in the end. Somewhat strange, but surprising and highly drinkable, and with a very recognizable Brabant character. Something you either love or hate, I suspect…

Sample @ BXL BeerFest 2018, shared with Belgian RB crew, thanks.

Clear orange beer, no head. Aroma: sweetish, fruity, some butter, overripe fruits, melon, bit slick, fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, bit buttery, melons, bit chemical. Aftertaste: unpleasant bitterness, more butter notes (diacetyl?). I do hope this beer is just too young, and the diacetyl will go away.
