Draft at Jack's Abby. Poured a black color with a medium-tan head. Aroma was malty notes, brown sugar, plenty of roasted character, big vanilla. Herbal, chocolate, roasted. Smooth dark roast, chocolate malt. Wow. Really nice stuff. Alcohol totally hidden in this one.

This 500 ml bottle was found at a beercentric liquor store in Colorado Springs early in the summer. The label informs of a 12%, just saying. I have a tulip glass from ABGB ready to catch the pour, a dark enough brown to almost be black followed by a think skim of taupe foam that is consistently being recharged. The scent is grainy with some dark fruit, not anything exciting. However, the taste is a significant step up. Black plums, malt, a bit of chocolate, rye bread and a toffee sweetness. A little boozy and bitter on the back end, this brew checks a lot of boxes with me. Interesting.

Aromas are dark malt, roast, cocoa and a bit of Oak. Flavors are like nose, very soft, add in a little coffee. Texture is likewise soft and mellow. Very smooth beer. Alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle ordered from Noble Green Wines, Hampton. Sweet bourbon booziness and vanilla. Marzipan and white chocolate. Dark. Glossy. Microbubbled thinning creamy beige head. The flava essentially reflects the aroma. Or does the aroma reflects the flava? It's boozy. A boozy bite alongside some coffee bitterness. But sweetness lies under the surface like an iceberg. Sweet dark dried fruit and creamy vanilla. Wood appears into the finish. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Again I want to try the unadulterated version of this beer. The bourbon really seems to monopolise the party here. I like it but what does Framinghammer actually taste like?
