At a tasting, thanks rosenbergh, murky deep orange to red colour, aroma of juniper, vinegar, fruit, hint of smoke and something funky, flavour of banana, pineapple amd grapes, light pleasant bitterness and a medium strong sourness, light bidy, doesn?t feel anything like 9%, nicely balanced, fun and easy to drink. Very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks tomer. Cloudy reddish amber. Sourish aroma with a bit of vinegar. fruity esters, some juniper and a smoky note. Sourish-sweetish flavor with fruitiness (quite a bit of banana), a bit of caramel and a mild spicy note. Medium-bodied. Quite nice. Alcohol is really well-concealed, very easy-drinking.

Bottle from Rosenbergh - Thank you very much for this!!! Style no. 70!
Brown and cloudy in colour, beige head disappears quickly. The nose is smooth, yeasty, slightly sugary. The Sahti starts smooth, very nice. Brown malt, cane sugar, plums. No hint of the 9%. The mainpart continues very smooth. Herbal notes come to the malty, brown sugary taste, still very smooth. Yeasty. The aftertaste is long. Only very gentle bitter. Here the typical characteristics of the rye-malt are obvious, a bit nutty, smooth, only gentle herbal - this note could be a bit more intense. On the tongue lays a thick layer of smooth maltiness, plums, cane sugar. And here you can feel the warming aspect of the 9%. But not sharp or anything like that.
--> Great stuff! Not as strange as I expected, but very interesting. The taste can somehow be compared to a dark Bavarian Weizenbock. --> 13/13/14/13

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BBE 101013, at Oljenkorsi, 20130831) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had banana, caramell and malts. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, banana, caramell, juniper and bitterness. A nice balanced sahti.

Bottled (as Talvisahti, thanks Joona!). Hazy reddish brown colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Rather lively when opening. Aroma is bananas, some slight yeastyness as well as some caramel, spices and wooden notes. Flavour is juniper, yeast, some bananas, mild spices and wood. Actually I was taken by surprise about the quality of this Sahti, usually this producers sahti’s have been slightly infected etc, but no traces of that in this bottle. Even quite refreshing and hides the alcohol very well.

Flaska from rosenbergh, kiitos. Hazy red brown color with almost no head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruity notes. Oily body. Taste, sweet malt, honey, red fruits, fresh tartness, light bitterness in background. Alcohol is well hidden. Good one.

25 cl sample from 5L plastic canister @ Olutravintola Kahdet Kasvot
Aroma has sweet, weisse-like banana and some strawberries. flavour is sweet with banana, some filled licorice with strawberries. Some warming alcohol in the sticky finish. Very oily and somewhat floury palate, no CO2 at all – but it does not disturb. Good sahti, probably the best I’ve had.
7+3+8+4+16 = 3.8

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 03.08.2014
Quite the same, but a lot stronger on strawberries. Still good.
