650ml bottle from The Gull shared with George on Greenpoint campground. Dark black, beige head. Aroma is sweet pomegranate, molasses, candied cranberries. Similar taste with a roasted malt aftertaste. Good stuff.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a tan head. Bourbon and vanilla aroma. Chocolate and bourbon flavor with light berry. Medium-plus bodied. Chocolate and tart berry lingers with bourbon.

Bottle 22fl.oz. at [ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting ] @ Deanso’s place (former ABC Beers), Korte Koediefstraat 5 Den Haag, Netherlands 2511CE. [ As Deschutes Black Butte XXVI ].Clear dark brown black colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coconut, wood, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, roasted, chocolate, dark chocolate, light tart (asume the pomegranate and cranberries), wood notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20160922] 8-4-8-4-17

Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is dark and fruity with lots of chocolate and lighter roast notes. Some hints of tobacco and leather with some bourbon notes and light oak. Fairly fruity with cherry, plum, berry and prune. Light alcohol spice. Pours dark brown to black with a medium large, thick, dark tan head that recedes slowly to a thin film that lingers thicker and creamier on the edges. Moderate lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with quite a bit of chocolate and fruit. Lighter roast notes, tobacco and leather. Light oak and bourbon notes. Fairly fruity which adds some sweetness with some berry, cherry, plum and prune. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low to medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, I guess this might be a better beer than I was expecting, but its still fairly odd. Fruity and chocolate forward with some light tartness.

Thank you Maakun. 650 ml. bottle sampled @ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Black with mocha bubbles. Nose is thick warming molasses, quite boozy, syrupy with low vanilla. This sweet molasses taste with low smoke, woody, very faint fruits, thick warming syrupy consistency syrupy, brown sugar, low licorice. Lovely, thick, massive. Very good.

Bottle shared @ Borefts Pre-tasting. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, raisins, bourbon, sweet, a slight touch of red fruits, quite some alcohol, lightly fruitpeel tart. Medium body, firm carbonation. Hmm ok but not as good as I had hoped.

Sampled @ Pre-Borefts-Tasting 2016. Dunkel braune Farbe, mittelgroße bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch schokoladig süß, reife rote Früchte. Geschmack süß kräftig malzig, Karamell, Schokolade.

Bottle. Black color with beige head. Aroma is prunes and figs, lots of oak sugar, chocolate, cocoa. Taste is cocoa, cranberries, more oak sugar. Slightly tart finish. Rich, complex, with a nice tartness. Extremely good!
