The orchard was established around 1895 by the Bennett family, settlers from England, along with a barn and farmhouse. Circa 1900 on Hornby, there were around 2000 apple trees on the island; a 1903 Department of Agriculture report notes that the main varieties grown were Red Astrachan, Duchess of Oldenburg, Wealthy, Swaar, Baldwin, Pewaukee and Northern Spy - some of which are found in this batch along with others we have yet to identify.
Each bottle underwent a secondary in-bottle fermentation for natural bubble and was cellar-aged for one year.

Pours light golden. Yeasty aroma. Crisp apple flavour. A bit tart; dry in the mouth. Nice.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Clear blonde with almost no white head. Apple skin, feint floral tartness that lends itself nicely to the overall balance, quite nice.

750mL bottle, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is nicely musty and funky, with rustic notes, dry apple skins, and a touch of hay. Flavour is on the tart side, with plenty of hay, musty dry apple skins, and above average tartness for a cider (much tarter than Twin Island's average too). Some good subtle depth to this. Solid, but I prefer their funkier, drier ones. Still very good.

Pale gold. Nice appley aroma. Deep juicy apple taste, like eating apples but with far more tannins. The expressive fruit is really highlighted by the right tannins and gentle acidity. Assertive. Quality.
