330ml bottle. Almost clear, darkest brown colour with ruby shimmer and minimally late awakening, average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Relatively weak, roasty, slightly chocolately and minimally spicy, dark and caramel malty aroma, notes of dark caramel, some toffee, malt lozenge, whiffs of treacle, coffee, burnt caramel, liquorice, bramble. Taste is bitter and sweet, roasty and caramel malty, feasibly alcoholic, initally bitter roasty and bitter hoppy, almost a bit metallic, later more caramel malty, sweeter, more balanced, notes of dark caramel, some toffee, coffee, ashy overtones, very weak hints of blackberry, blueberry, liquorice; lingering, warming, alcoholic and caramel malty finish. Forms an alcohol underpinned, full body after the bitter intro, oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft, creamy carbonation. Not the most complex Baltic Porter but with a handful of subtleties; remarkable body, dangerously drinkable despite the alcoholic strength - pleasurable.

330 ml paper-covered bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 11.3%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of moderately roasted malts, hints of leather and liquorice. The medium sweet flavour has notes of roast malts, liquorice, caramel and dark chocolate, some woody notes too. A tad too sweet perhaps, but still a good beer.

Drukket på Bergstua. Ultramørkebrun/svart. Lavt luftig lysebrunt skum. Daler sakte og etterlater litt lacing. God aroma av lær, lakris & røstet malt. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken mørk sjokolade, litt kaffe & lakris. Velkomponert. Kakao i en tørr bitter avslutning.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, 20210904) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had vanilla, wood and glue. Palate was wood, berries and burnt malts. Flavours were ash, sweetness, berries, wood, sourness and bitterness. Aftertaste had sourness, burnt malts and bitterness. A confusing brew with burnt notes.
Earlier Rating: 11/5/2020 Total Score: 3.7
(Keg at Pikkulintu, 20201105) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate, coffee, hops and cocoa powder. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, lightly metal, cocoa powder, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, hoppy and bitter. A pleasant burnt brew that hid its pretty high ABV well.

(Keg at Panema Kallio, 20181123) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, smoke, dark chocolate and liquorice. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, soy sauce, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was boozy, burnt and bitter. Unfortunately, an unbalanced brew. Booze and soy sauce were too dominating.
