As big fans of geuze-style beers, we wanted to give our own spontaneous fermentation beer a go. To our own surprise, with success. Aside from our own Spierelambiek - our spontaneously fermented beer named after a tiny river that runs near the brewery - we use two traditional lambieks from the valley of the Senne (close to Brussels) to make a blend. One, two and three year old lambieks are used in Mirakel, our own miracle.

Bottle shared with the boys. Barnyard, light phenols, funk, apple skin, citruses, and the most surprising of all, sesame. Loads of it. What's there not to love?

2020 version. Aromas are yeast, fresh cut grass, spice, with a little honey and dry grain. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, moderately tart with some bitter and back and a hint of sweet. Good body and crisp carbonation. Thirst quenching finish. Good stuff.

A golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with ground cherries, lactic acid notes, Epsom salts, light acidity, very nice. In mouth, a nice tart mix of ground cherry, light lactic notes, light horseblanket, very nice and complex. Bottle at Festibiere de Gatineau 2023.

750 ml bottle. Thanks to Travlr on the share! 2019 vintage. Flavor is cheese, oak, funk, and mildly lactic. Pretty balanced all considering. Very good!

750mL 2019 bottle, drunk 3/18/23. Clear blonde bronze. Wispy head. Heavy Brett, pepper, spice, oak, wow this is lovely. Soft, poopy, juicy, kinda flabby and green appley reminding of boom, but it's actually not flabby and is spicy, juicy, heavily Bretty. Nice. Cheesey lactic and stone fruit. Nice.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Honeyish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is tartness, some wood, acidity and some earthy and very brett like notes. Like a Cantillon or 3F nose actually. Flavour is brett, some wood, tart fruits and a bunch of earth. On par with the really good lambics.
