Jacobinus Schwarzbier, 4,9 %, Flasche von Edeka, Meinhard-Grebendorf. - Tiefdunkel, fast schwarz. - In der Nase mild karamelliges Röstmalz und dezente herbale Hintergrundhopfung. - Antrunk kernig röstmalzbitter mit Mokka, Asche und unpassender Gemüsenote. Kaum süß, leichter Karamel. Milder rezent, trocken. Im Abgang kernige, lange Röstmalzbittere und milde Hopfenherbe. - Von den kräftigen, kantigen Röstaromen her ein echtes Schwarzbier, nur durch eine schwache Gemüsenote beeinträchtigt. (29.10.2023.)

Bottle. Brown with a loose pale beige head. Aroma of cola, light roast, coffee. The sweetness and roast actually balance each other quite nicely and it's refreshing if plain. Some grassy bitterness.

500 mml bottle tasted on the 26/08/2016. Labeled as "Altstadt Schwarzbier". Cola colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and liquorice. Taste is liquorice, some candy and hints of roast. Next one please!

Tap. A fairly typical but well done Schwarz: Slight roast notes, mostly liquorice, fitting bitterness, foamy lively carbonation, light body. Simple and easy, but well done.

Bottle. Light roast, black, low offwhite head. Medium light body, ok roast light nutty, good balance of caramel to hops.

0,5 l bottle. Not really black, more a darkest brown. Two finger beige head. Not a lot on the nose, little bit metallic. Taste starts roasted malty, but not very intensive. Again hints of a metallic taste. Some low citrusfruit parts in the malty aftertaste. Not bad but still average.

Bottle from Keller Meister, Lincoln. Deep cola black colour with a cream head. Aroma is roasted malt, and fruity hops. Taste is the same with a light bittersweet aftertaste.

Fonefan 280215. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Flavour is roasted malt, caramel, hop, coffee, licorice. Medium body. Ordinary beer.

Klare dunkel rötlichbraune Farbe, mittelgroße hell beige Schaumkrone. Geruch gering röstmalzig, süß, Karamell. Geschmack karamellig, süß röstmalzig, nett!

[ As Altstadt Schwarzbier ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, dark malt, light roasted, light caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, sugary, dry, late it has some ash bitter. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft.
